Caring For Your Drains

Sinks

1. Use bio enzymes to keep grease and food waste from building up in your lines (this simultaneously serves as a maintenance treatment for septic tanks)
2. Keep hot grease out of your sink. The grease will cool and solidify causing slow drains at the least and blockages at the worst

Garbage Disposal

1. Put as much food waste as possible in the garbage can. Food waste collects in drain lines and slows down your drains.
2. Avoid putting any food that expands down the disposal, like bread, pasta and rice.

Bathroom

1. Maintain a clog-free toilet! Keep “flushable” wipes, feminine products, diapers, and children’s toys out of the toilet. They get hung up on roots and ridges in your sewer lines that cause backups. Plus, there’s actually no such thing as a flushable wipe!
   2. Hold the handle down when you flush for the best effect.

Sewer Lines

If you know you have roots in your sewer line, pour copper sulfate down your toilet or clean out twice a year in the spring and fall (when the roots grow the most). These solutions won’t get rid of the roots you have now – that’s what we are here for – but it will slow their growth so they don’t come back quite as fast.
